Cisco SD208P 8-port 10/100 Switch – PoE/QoS

Cisco SD208P 8-port 10/100 Switch - PoE/QoS

  • Connect up to eight network devices
  • PoE on four ports powers network-attached devices
  • Compact size for placement on a desk or mounting to a surface
  • 8 10/100 ports with PoE and automatic MDI/MDI-X crossover help ensure that correct cable type is selected
  • Auto speed negotiation allows each port to independently and automatically negotiate for the best speed

The Cisco SD208P 8-Port 10/100 Switch, a Cisco Small Business Unmanaged Switch, offers the performance and ease of use you need to get your business connected. Just plug in your Ethernet cables, connect a power cord, and goâ?”thereâ?TMs no software to configure. Use this switch to connect PCs, printers, and network storage to your network. Built-in Power over Ethernet lets you power wireless access points and video surveillance cameras directly over the cable connection.

The Switch provides non-blocking, wire speed switching for your 10 and 100 megabit network clients. All ports have automatic MDI/MDI-X crossover detection, so you don’t have to worry about the crossover cable type. Each port independently and automatically negotiates for best speed and whether to run in half- or full-duplex mode. Address learning and aging is supported, as well as 802.3x flow control with head-of-line blocking prevention to keep your high-speed clients from bogging down in lower-speed traffic. Fast store-and-forward switching prevents damaged packets from being passed on into the network.

The SD208P supports IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet on four ports, providing power over Cat-5 cabling to PoE end devices, such as wireless access points, IP phones or other PoE powered devices, to help eliminate need for dedicated electrical outlet.

The Switch has a built in feature to aid network performance at times of excessive load. It is called Port Priority. It integrates Port Based QoS on all 8 ports to meet different service requirement on voice, video and data transformation. This feature can be useful during excessive loads, for example, when one type of traffic may require priority over another.

World-class Cisco reliability and the limited lifetime warranty give you peace of mind and the new ultra-compact case design is sure to fit into your workgroup environment. Let the SD208P Switch kick your network into high gear.

VoIP – Bridging Gaps and Connecting People

Communicating to your loved ones that are situated all over the globe is now an easy thing thanks to the VOIP system. It is one of the most famous forms of telecommunications nowadays. It is simply a form of phone call but utilizes an internet connection in contrast against a phone line. A VOIP system is able to offer a whole lot of versatility than the usual services being offered by basic telephone call service. On the usual telephone service, two people are the only people that are allowed to talk. However, in a VOIP system, you can talk to a number of people all at the same time. Also, you are given the option to be able to send a number of files such as picture, videos and even text. The calls are not only clearer but the costs are pretty much low and cheaper. VOIP billing systems are being implemented by companies that result to increasing their efficiency while being able to reduce the costs of operations.

VOIP can be utilized by using a PC, a VOIP compatible phone and an adapter. Instead of charging the usual per minute fees, a VOIP plan uses the megabyte type of billing which is dependent on the amount of information one sends through the communication medium. Since the VOIP system utilizes an internet connection, someone can be reached using the said system as long as they have internet capabilities.

Connecting families and friends are one of the most valuable benefits of the VOIP system. Companies like Google and Skype are few of the choices people are able to use to keep in chance regardless of the distance.  In an unprecedented event, people are now able to talk more and more to their distant relatives while being able to pay lesser costs. College students are also able to take advantage of this modern innovation.

The world has increasing become smaller due to the technologies that bridge gaps and connect people all over the world to one another. This is indeed a boon to the ever fast-paced world that we are living in, thanks to the VOIP system.
