VoIP For Small Businesses

With the dwindling economy, small businesses are surely on the lookout for anything that can make them cut back on costs. Some ideas may get them to save money but it just isn’t enough. But VoIP is rather different, it is proven to be a cost-effective calling system that utilizes the Internet instead of your conventional service provider.

VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) permits small businesses to make use of Broadband Internet as a means to make and receive phone call. It can work even when the number you are calling is not using the same service as you are. Since VoIP utilizes Broadband Internet to enable calls, this connection is of the essence. You must get a high-speed Internet connection, say, DSL.

Again, the most significant reason why VoIP is highly recommended is because of the immensely low monthly fee. With its help, budding businesses are able to reduce the total of the added taxes, service fees, and hidden charges that can sum up to huge amounts. It also allows these small businesses to make even international calls at a minimum.

Some prospective clients may see power outages and concerns regarding emergency calls such as 911 as hindrances as these factors are very significant in any business and households as well. But majority of VoIP providers nowadays feature the service 911 calling capacity now, just inquire and scrutinize first before officially signing up.

Large business operations require high-end equipment to connect to a PSTN. On the other hand, small businesses that use VoIP connect to the Internet, with no other equipment to buy. You then will also be able receive e-mails, voicemails, and faxes aside from the calls. Some of the bonus features that will surely be helpful are three-way calling, call forwarding,  and caller ID, among many others.

Small budding business certainly need not spend tremendously on conventional landlines. VoIP will definitely be of help.

VoIP and the Incorporation of Satellite Broadband

One of the major factors of the innovations and breakthroughs of VoIP is the satellite broadband. VoIP has improved a lot in the recent years. It has been able to reach even the most remote areas in the world beyond the usual service area of many ISPs and telecommunication companies. This satellite broadband technology has opened up many avenues of having voices over satellite solutions that are basically, user friendly as the traditional telephone and are being used by most households and businesses. Users are just required to have a certain dial and a competent receiver. The voice signals are then being passed from the central processing hubs and satellites and will be decoded by various software. Satellite broadban VoIP is the only way of making wireless calls in areas that are not serviced by big telecommunication firms or any mobile phone carriers.

Satellite VoIP solutions are now becoming more and more user-friendly and have been boasting a health and stable integration of the satellite Internet and the many types of VoIP services. These platforms have now overshadowed all the mobile communications in the aspect of coverage of media. The craving for the ‘instant’ is one of the characteristics of our modern and fast-paced lifestyle. Being able to communicate anytime and anywhere has been the driving force behind this technology. Users are now pretty much empowered for more and more improvements to come. Satellite VoIP is now being utilized and have been sought after by corporate users who must make constant calls from their correspondents abroad from very different areas of the remotest and unreliable communication facilities.

Distance is one thing that has been made not a factor for the communication of the modern day. With the VoIP, callers are now able to communicate without relying on the usual and traditional terrestrial infrastructures just to be able to send and receive signals. The VoIP system has indeed been pushing the barriers of communication to a level which only existed in fantasy years and years ago. It not only improved communication but the level and quality of relationships among people all over the globe.

Integration Of VoIP With Cellphones

Cell phones and VoIP are two main technologies utilized in communication. They enable people to connect from any location at any time.

A lot of people are familiar with cellphones, and it is part of daily life. On the other hand, VoIP is a technology enables consumers to make and receive phone calls with the use of the Internet. Aside from the regular phone and an Internet connection, all you need is a VoIP router to make and receive calls.

You basically don’t need a computer just to utilize VoIP for phone call. In order for you to get better voice quality, you need to have a high-speed Internet connection like Cable Modem or DSL

The integration of cell phones with VoIP will yield more convenience and make consumers spend less. There are basically to ways in making cellphones work with VoIP.

First, cellphone service providers have made it possible for your current units to access their wireless Internet connection or hotspots. This feature enables consumers to make VoIP calls with their cell phones without the need of a broadband network. It is a major advantage to the regular VoIP that needs a broadband Internet connection.

Second, VoIP providers have manufactured wireless Internet phones that can function with the help of their current wireless Internet access point worldwide, rather than having to connect to broadband Internet connection.

The difference is the cost of utilizing cellphones with VoIP. If VoIP is utilized from a mobile phone service provider, you would not to purchase a new Internet phone to make use of the VoIP. However you will need to shell out extra money for every minute you use. In using mobile phone with the help of a VoIP service, you need not purchase an Internet phone. Plus, you wouldn’t need to pay extra regardless how many minutes you use in a month.

The Network Server In VoIP

By this time, you may already have heard about VoIP. If not from the ads, maybe from someone recommended or talked about it to you. But if you’ve been hiding under a rock and don’t have a single clue what it is, well, it is a system that enables you to make and receive phone calls using the Internet and a service provider.

What’s so special about it? For starters, VoIP is most useful for people who make long distance calls on a regular basis. You wouldn’t have to be shocked come your monthly phone bill since the amount you will be paying is fixed every month.

Since VoIP makes use of the network server, it then plays a big part in its service. You pretty much could not make a call without it. You have the freedom to choose a package that you believe will cater to your specific need, but you still need a service provider in making phone calls because they are held responsible for keeping track of your calls. Don’t worry because there will be an array of service providers to choose from.

Your chosen network server makes sure that your calls are made and received properly. However, just like almost anything else, there isn’t really a 100% guarantee when it comes to the quality of the calls you makes. That’s the main issue VoIP is dealing with right now, but you can rest assured you will still be able to make your phone calls.

The network server acts as a mediator when you make a call between you and the person on the other end. It acts right below your service provider to make certain that your calls are going well. Also, the network server confirms that requests are getting through and that necessary data are sent to another computer across a certain network or the Internet.

VoIP is said to be the future of telecommunication. It has been predicted that anytime soon, every single one of us will be using VoIP and ditch the costly conventional phones.

VoIP Protocols and Types of Architecture

Voice-over Internet Protocol, also known as VoIP, has been creating a buzz for more than five years now. Before, we communicate with distant people using telephone, our primary mode of communication. VoIP has taken over this basic means of communication, we now converse through the use of computers.

Computers initially aimed for just speedier calculations, its main purpose was to make life easier at work and at home. It never struck people as a communication tool up until recently. Internet turned the leaf of communication, one of its primary uses now is communication and data sharing.

There are four different tools for voice transfer, namely IP Phone, IP Converter, Line gateway and fully IP enabled PBX system. Conventional voice carrying system used to convey analog signals, IP enabled VOIP system now transfers digital signals. That is the main difference between the two.

The main protocols used in VOIP are SIP, H.323, MGCP, and H.248/Megaco. Basically, there are two types of architectures in VoIP: centralized and distributed. The said protocols and their used depend on the architecture used for VOIP system in the organization. Say, MGCP and H.248 protocols are used in centralized type of architecture while SIP and H.323 for distributed type of architecture.

These terms may sound very technical but it doesn’t change the fact that VoIP is the future of communication. VoIP offers an array of advantages. To name a few, the cost, data & voice integrated systems and open standards. No additional costs for any calls, unlike the conventional switch network. Additionally, it offers the convenience of your computer being single terminal for all your communication and data sharing needs.

Traditional and Modern VoIP

When Internet and dial up have just emerged to our knowledge, VoIP was something only a few are able to experience. Voice calls were horribly hard to make back then, with the latency and lag linked to slow speeds and whatnot. VoIP was always the last resort. When PSTN phone system were sucking at being a When PSTN phone system, VoIP is the answer.

Back then, Internet traffic was always a pain in the neck of people. Like it has changed! But modern broadband speeds are in no comparison to that. When you have access to these high-speed connections we have, we don’t have worry when talking to our loved ones on our computers anymore.

However, cellphones can still be the cause of our headaches, when we speak of bandwidth. 3G technologies of the modern times offer more than enough bandwidth to allow a smooth VoIP experience. It’s not the speed that is a limiting factor, instead, it’s the latency and lag associated with wireless connectivity.

Wherever you may be today, WiFi connections are not a rare thing to come by. We take a sip on our coffee in our favorite coffee shops and when things get a little boring, we can just whip out our mobiles, then voila, we can spend our time on the Internet. Wi-Fi is a great alternative, considering it is covered by a standard Ethernet connection. You can rest assured you won’t be having troubles with it when it’s within its area of operation. But the 4G that’s on the rise today is a perfect match for VoIP, thus the acronym VoLTE – Voice over LTE.

How do you enjoy VoIP? Me, I still go for the traditional VoIP where I get to use my desktop, but mobile VoIP is not too shabby! It can boast of its own charm, and well yeah, it’s mobile. Ah, the convenience! You get to talk to anyone, anytime, anywhere.
