I have always been able to forward my office phone calls to my Blackberry or iPhone because the phone company has call forwarding. But a business land line is different from VOIP. If I were to get VOIP phone service, which is through the internet, can those calls be forwarded to my Blackberry or iPhone?

Call forwarding features works the same way in landlines and mobile phones as long as the mobile phone is added as an extension to the main number. See this kind of VoIP provider who offer simple way in forwarding your calls to mobile phones.

Yes, almost every VoIP provider offers Call Forwarding along with Caller ID, Voice Mail etc… But, you don’t need an expensive VoIP account for those features, MagicJack will do that for you, and they are only $ 19.95 or $ 19.99 per year.
I use my Magicjack for my office phone, and have a toll free number ringing into it. Nothing like paying about 20 bucks per year for business phone service, and less than 3 cents per minute for toll free service nationwide. I love saving thousands per year over what I used to pay with Qwest.
YES! This is a VERY basic feature that can easily be done. I run a VoIP Phone Service company and you can be assured that most providers have this feature. We also have a feature called Voicemail-to-Email which forwards voicemails to your email and even attaches an audio file so you can listen to them. I love it because if I’m out of the office, I get my voicemail on my blackberry immediately.
You can also do advanced Call Forwarding which we commonly do for our customers. You can set it up to where it will ring the office phone for a certain amount of rings, then if noone answers, you can have it ring your cellphone or any other phone then if you dont answer there, it goes back and leaves a voicemail at the office. All the while, the caller has no idea the call is being forwarded around.
Also, the Iphone has an App where you can set up a VoIP account directly on your iphone and make and receive calls from the app. This is called a softphone and they have several available that run on your computer. My partner uses it a lot and it works great! So far, there is not a softphone app for the blackberry but I’m hoping there will be soon.
